Brine Signs Up to Shuck in San Marco

Brine is back after an 18-month hiatus! What had been a raw bar pop-up has now signed a 5-year lease to settle into a brick-and-mortar unit at 1435 Naldo Ave in San Marco. This marks the return of the concept from chef Chris Cohen and his wife, Julie Cohen.

Town Center update: A Hotel, Retail and More

The signs are up and work is continuing on the AC Hotels by Marriott at St. Johns Town Center. The Daily Record first reported in February 2020 the chain was looking at the shopping center. Now the hotel website says it will open in January. Meanwhile, construction walls are in place for retailers Abercrombie & Fitch, Lululemon and Garage.

Those are some of the projects in progress or recently opened at the shopping center and its neighbors along Town Center Parkway in the shopping heart of Jacksonville. Here’s an update on some of the projects the Daily Record has been following in the area:

Ashco Centers bought the former Thomasville furniture store near The Markets at Town Center for conversion into the Town Center Medical Plaza. Ashco Centers at St. Johns LLC paid almost $2.3 million for the 13,200-square-foot store Aug. 19. The 1.27-acre property is at 4853 Big Island Drive.
